“Yellow September” action marks IDEBRA’s calendar

During September, the world unites to spread awareness to the population about mental health’s importance to the individual, and IDEBRA could not be left out of this initiative.

On Wednesday (September 28th), the Institute opened its doors to psychologist Ralyne Queiroz, for a debate on Yellow September, its meaning, and its importance. Equipped with up-to-date technical data and information, the professional was able to reach out and answer questions from the participants with simple and didactic language.

The campaign, which began in Brazil in 2015, aims to raise awareness and demystify the attempt on life that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is responsible for more than 700,000 deaths annually around the world.

 

Ralyne works at the Center for the Defense of Life (CDVida), an organization that has been assisting women victims of violence for 24 years in the municipality of Duque de Caxias – RJ, the host city of the Institute of Development Hope Brazil (IDEBRA). The contact with CDVida was made after a suggestion from the students of the Rhythms class, made up of the Institute’s students’ mothers.

Members of several courses were encouraged to participate. In all, the event was attended by 50 people, including students and guardians of all IDEBRA classes: Rhythms, Logistic Processes Course, and Urban Dance Workshop, in addition to the IDEBRA team and the employability teacher from SENAC.

The Institute’s objective is to contribute to better living conditions for the beneficiaries and this issue was and is an important agenda for all those assisted. IDEBRA values ​​life that allows everyone to make a difference every day.
