EX: AUDIOVISUAL WORKSHOP – A DAY OF CREATIVITY AND LEARNING AT IDEBRA!

On November 11th, 2023, IDEBRA hosted an inspiring event: an audiovisual workshop held at the Municipal Council Chamber. With a diverse audience of 32 participants, including teenagers, children, and adults, the event provided a 6-hour immersion into the audiovisual world.

The day’s goal was clear: to explore the possibilities of the EDUCOMLAB platform, an educational tool dedicated to the audiovisual realm. Júlio Suñé, Anibal Clemente, and Fabrício Santana led the team offering an enriching journey.

The program included the screening of eight video lessons from the EDUCOMLAB platform, covering essential topics such as scriptwriting, agenda, production, pre-production, and post-production. Participants were encouraged to think not only about creating videos but also about how to showcase them in various contexts, such as schools, neighborhoods, and community centers.

The explored themes were broad, encompassing audiovisual genres and formats, camera shots and movements, lighting, an introduction to video editing, and the fundamental concept of educommunication. The filming team also took center stage, with discussions about the roles of each member within audiovisual production.

Interaction went beyond the screen as the workshop provided a collaborative environment, and, as part of the program, the group was divided into five working teams. Each team was challenged to create scripts and agendas for the production of short videos, stimulating the practical application of acquired knowledge.

In the dynamic, students efficiently divided roles, with each group having scriptwriters, editors, filming coordinators, interviewers, actors, and directors. This multifunctional approach provided a comprehensive experience in audiovisual production, promoting collaboration and understanding of the different aspects involved.

Participants conceptualized their ideas and applied audiovisual production techniques. Using written scripts divided into scenes, groups established a solid narrative structure for their videos. Cutting and editing techniques, including the use of effects, were skillfully employed, resulting in final videos that impressed with creativity and quality.

At the end of the workshop, the results were remarkable. In total, the students produced five videos, one per group, with an average duration ranging from 1 to 5 minutes. These videos not only reflected the participants’ creativity but also highlighted the practical application of concepts learned during the event.

This workshop strengthened participants’ understanding of audiovisual elements and also promoted creativity and teamwork. IDEBRA, once again, stands out by offering immersive educational experiences that go beyond classroom boundaries. Practical and collaborative learning is the essence of each initiative, propelling students beyond the ordinary.
