Last weekend, on the 22nd and 24th of May, IDEBRA held Cine Dança, at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The event brought together young people with a special itinerary. To attract audiences and celebrate International Dance Day, Cine Dança was attended by children and teenagers who could enjoy watching a film and participating in interactive activities. It was an important moment for the community that encouraged creativity and celebrated artistic expression.

On the first day of the event, Cine Dança received seventeen children and teenagers for the screening of the film “Entre nessa Dança” (2004). The story caught everyone’s attention, showing the importance of art as a form of expression and resilience.

On the second day of the event, the program was even more dynamic and interactive. Eleven children and teenagers participated in a relaxed chat about dance, sharing their experiences and passions for the art of movement. After the chat, a class was held, in which everyone was able to put into practice what they had learned and express themselves freely. Dance is an innovative learning tool, that stimulates motor coordination, emotional expression, and teamwork.

Cine Dança was specially planned to coincide with International Dance Day, celebrated annually on April 29th. This date was chosen by UNESCO to honor dance as a universal art form, promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. The presence of students and guests at the event highlighted its importance as a tool for social inclusion and personal development, in addition to connecting the Institute with the surrounding community.
